アメリカ建国250周年記念「複雑な連合展」は、歴史、アイデンティティ、権力、ケア、抵抗、記憶、そして集団生活の不安定な約束に疑問を抱くアーティストが集まっています。

Sanae Yasuda compresses a dense historical narrative into the scale of an object you might almost mistake for a card. In Swords 7, referencing the Seven of Swords tarot—strategy, concealment, moral ambiguity—the surface is a fractured field where early American settler imagery and Indigenous village life are held in uneasy simultaneity.At just 15 cm square, the work reads less like a painting than a talisman or index of contested memory. Through collage, Yasuda stages collision rather than sequence: no clean “before and after,” but overlapping histories that refuse resolution.

安田早苗は、カードと見間違えそうなほど小さなオブジェの中に、密度の高い歴史的物語を凝縮している。『Swords 7』では、タロットの「7本の剣」――戦略、隠蔽、道徳的曖昧さ――をモチーフに、表面は断片化された空間となっており、初期のアメリカ入植者のイメージと先住民の村の生活が、居心地の悪い共存関係の中で並置されている。わずか15cm四方のこの作品は、絵画というよりは、お守りや、争いの絶えない記憶の指標のように映る。安田はコラージュを通じて、連続性ではなく衝突を演出している。明確な「前後」はなく、決着がつかないまま重なり合う歴史が描かれている。(DeepLによる翻訳）
